These are nine weeks of basic software testing and quality assurance course for beginners. You can learn why and how software testing is done manually following real-world examples.
These are first week slides of the Software Testing and Quality assurance course. The course is specifically designed for beginners with no or minimal IT knowledge. In the first week, we will learn basic of Software Testing, why we need it, what is the software development life cycle and where testing comes into a picture.
In these slides, we will learn about what is manual testing, what is the test scenario and how to write the test case with an example. We will take a real-world scenario to understand what is a Software Testing Life Cycle and what we do on each phase, what is the exit criteria (when we are ready to move to the next phase) and what are output artifacts of each phase.
In third week slides, we will learn about the Snagit tool that can be used to take a screenshot and short videos of defects. What is Defect Report and how to write it? What is the defect life cycle where we will learn different phases of defect resolution? In the end, we will briefly understand the basic web architecture i.e. when we write the website URL in the browser's address bar, how it is being served from the server.
These slides explain the important concept of different testing types i.e. Black and White box testing and when and how we do it with an example. We will learn about the functional and non-functional testing type and will then understand the different Black box (functional and non-functional) testing types e.g. Integration, Stress, Regression, and Integration testing.
In these slides, we will understand the basics of the database and how to write the queries to get the data from database tables. We will learn different operators with examples e.g. Where, Order By and Like that help to specify the conditions to filter the data.
These slides will explain some more SQL operators and statements to Insert a new record, Update and Delete the existing records. We will also learn how to filter values using In and Between operators along Top operator to get the desired number of top records from the database table.
These slides will explain the Primary and Foreign keys concepts with examples. Later, we will learn about different SQL Joins e.g. Inner, Outer, Full Outer, etc. to load data from two or more tables joined by Primary and Foreign keys relationships.
In these slides, we will learn about SQL datatype e.g. decimal, varchar, etc. Later, we will see how to create the tables through SQL query, create Views and how they different SQL functions work to filter the data from the database.
These slides will explain the Agile Methodology to understand how to do testing following Agile SDLC. We will also learn what is an XML, how the web applications are served on the internet, their architecture and building blocks. The successful tester should know these concepts to perform his daily job due to a huge number of web application development in the IT industry.
